A Practical Introduction to LaTeX for Psychology

This hands-on workshop introduces doctoral students in psychology to LaTeX, a powerful typesetting system that produces professional-quality academic documents. Starting with core LaTeX principles, participants will gain the confidence to create polished articles and theses while learning how modern tools like Quarto can enhance their workflow.

Thanks to this workshop, you will learn LaTeX fundamentals, Psychology-specific formatting using APA style packages, Bibliography management and citation workflows, how to structure articles and dissertation chapters. It is requested that attendees bring a scientific manuscript on which they are currently working. It will serve as the basis of the practical exercises throughout the course. No prior LaTeX experience required. By the end, you will understand both the power of LaTeX and when modern tools can make your academic writing workflow more efficient.
